LOW-MERCURY LAMPS (LINEAR AND COMPACT FLUORESCENT)
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION This measure is available for partial credit. One point of credit is available for installing low-mercury products wherever compact and/or linear fluorescent lamps are used or replaced. Mercury lamps must prove compliance with TCLP test or follow the USGBC’s LEED for Existing Buildings’ requirements and methodology for mercury content calculation. VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater will conduct field compliance verification. Field verification is likely only feasible for certain manufacturers’ linear fluorescent lamps that have either green end-caps, green print on the lamps, or are labeled “Hg”. Compact fluorescent lamps are much more difficult to visually identify. Documentation: The builder or developer will submit manufacturer data showing compliance with TCLP for all applicable lamp types. INTENT To promote the use of fluorescent lamps that have reduced mercury content.

COMMON LAUNDRY FACILITIES PROVIDED FOR ALL OCCUPANTS
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION Note: This measure applies to multifamily projects only. One point of credit is available for providing clothes washers and dryers for resident use in common area(s). VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater will conduct field compliance verification. Documentation: The Rater will collect project plans indicating common laundry facilities are provided. INTENT To conserve water and foster a sense of community.
