Field Verification: The Rater will verify installation of the qualifying product in the field and take representative photos. Documentation: The Rater must collect documentation verifying the refrigerator’s capacity and ENERGY STAR label from the EPA website. INTENT To reduce the amount of energy consumed for food storage

PERMANENT CENTERS FOR WASTE REDUCTION STRATEGIES
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION Up to two points are available, as follows: M6.1. Built-In Recycling Center (1 Point)
To receive credit, an assembly with a minimum of two bins (one for trash and one for recycling) must be built into the kitchen cabinets. Separately located bins or bind the garage or utility room do not qualify. M6.2. Built-In Composting Center (1 Point)
To receive credit, a compost bin with a built-in lid must be built into the kitchen’s base cabinets. The bin must be odor-resistant and protected from pests. Temporary countertop compost bins, standalone outdoor compost bins, and city food scrap or green waste bins do not qualify. VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater must conduct field compliance verification and take photos of the recycling and/or compost center(s). INTENT To increase the rates of recycling, composting, and waste diversion by providing built-in features that make these activities easier.
