DQ MUSE Term 1, 2014 | Page 6

Day Two kicked off with a forum lead by our President, Annette Box. We had a suite of industry folk join us including Daniel Evans, Claire Christian, Brad Haseman, Thomas Larkin and Candy Bowers. They spoke about how schools and artists can work together to best prepare our students for an engaging career in the arts. Ian Lawson Executive Director of Playlab let us in on the exciting new plays they have on offer, (check out page 21 & 22 for picks). A sneak peek of our new website finished the morning off with a bang. Stay tuned for its official launch!

Speaking of launches, lunch time saw delegates treated to two more: the beautiful and moving new DVD package of Verbatim Theatre piece Aurelian; and shake & stir's QLD Youth Shakespeare Festival which is back for 2014. (Check out page 10 to find out more!)

At the end of the very busy two days we shared a celebratory drink together outside and presented the Robin Thomas Bursary for beginning teachers to Mhari Underwood - a very deserving winner, and our famous raffle was drawn, with three very happy delegates leaving with a massive goody bag of treats worth over $1000 each!

Thanks again to all the tDQ members who joined us for FUSION14. We look forward to doing it all again next year.

A special thanks to the hardworking members of the Drama Queensland Committee for their tireless efforts in bringing FUSION14 to life.
