FUSION14:
CONFERENCE WRAP
5
Drama Queensland's 2014 State Conference: FUSION14 held at the beautiful Queensland Theatre Company has wrapped for another year. The sold out conference was a buzz with two full days of workshops, lunch time performances, launches, networking, trade displays and a whole lot more!
Thank you to Dr Sue Davis for kicking off the conference in style with her aptly titled keynote: The Dramatic Traveller's Journey: Legacies and Illuminations. For those who missed it, or want to experience it again, it will be published in our next DQ Journal.
We were also treated to Professor John O’Toole (in role we might add) bestowing Dr Madonna Stinson with Life Membership to Drama Queensland - a surprise for her, but not for those who know her well - she was a well deserving recipient and we welcome her to the Life Membership family with open arms.
Day One also included a lunch time performance of Sarah's Heavy Heart, a primary show touring through Artslink QLD. After a full day of workshops delegates were also treated to the launch of the DVD GAME ON from Markwell Presents, (check out page 16 for more details). And if that wasn't enough, Brisbane Festival let us in on some of the treats they have in store for us in September.
