Dance Classes • Recital Dance Intensive Ages 7–18 Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced dancers A 4-day, intensive training session designed for dancers looking to get back in shape before Fall session begins and older, more experienced dancers who are interested in auditioning for high/middle school Poms and Orchesis teams or a dance performance/ competition company. Dancers are separated by age and/or experience and taught in separate rooms. Dancers not only get technique classes in multi-disciplines, but are also instructed in other aspects of dance training, including nutrition, dance history, anatomy, injury prevention, acting, and choreography. Appropriate shoes. No satin ballet slippers. Replace tap ribbons with elastic tap ties (available for purchase from your instructor). BALLET: Black leotard and pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes for Beg./Int. class levels; pink canvas ballet shoes for Int./Adv. class levels. Bun required. JAZZ: Solid colored leotard and pink, black, or tan tights. Black jazz shorts or tight fitting capris are allowed upon approval of instructor. Soft, black, leather jazz shoes. Slip on jazz shoes required for Int./Adv. levels. No jazz sneakers. TAP: Fitted tank top or leotard and fitted jazz pants – NO JEANS. Jazz tap shoes (hard toe preferred) required for all Adv. levels. HIP HOP: Fitted tank top or leotard and fitted jazz pants. Jazz sneakers or clean gym sneakers. (No jeans, shorts or skirts, legs must be covered.) MODERN: Solid colored leotard and footless tights. No shoes. PRE-POINTE/POINTE: Black leotard and pink tights. All pointe shoes must be approved by the instructor before being used. Bun required. PLEASE NOTE: Students should wear form fitting dance clothing to attain the maximum benefit from these classes. The instructor may require additional attire guidelines. Hair must be secured away from the face and off the nape of the neck. All jewelry must be removed before taking any class. Our Mission “To provide our students with the finest dance instruction through inspiration, artistry, technique and performance.” Pool Day/Dancing in the Park Pool Day/Dancing in the Park Levels Beg/Int and up will spend the week of 7/14 at the Iroquois Pool. Dancers will use water resistance as a tool to strengthen and lengthen their muscles n this safe, fun water class. Pre-dance levels spend time in the Leisure Center playground and lawn for fun in the sun! WHY TAKE SUMMER CLASSES? 1. It’s FUN! 2. The hot weather helps flexibility! 3.
