Include the dog’s name, in parenthesis. All obedience classes use the Leisure Center Service Door entrance, from the north parking lot. • Owners must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by an adult for class. • Dogs must successfully pass the previous level before advancing. • Do not buy any equipment prior to the first class. Proper equipment will be discussed and available at the first meeting. Please bring to the first class: 1. Health information, rabies number, health certificate, and date of last vet visit. 2. Paper towels and plastic bags. 3. Paper and pen. 4. Your dog. Beginning Obedience Must be at least 5 months old. Tired of your dog dragging you down the street? Is he/she destructive? Learn to enjoy your dog and get control! Basic obedience will be taught. Your dog will learn to walk nicely at your side, stay when told, and come when called. Problem solving will also be covered. Rally/Intermediate Learn Rally, the newest sport for your dog, following a set course of signs. Novice level is all on-leash, and very positive for the dog. All participants must already be able to do basic levels of obedience to attend this class. Looking For a Great Dog Park? Beck Lake is a Dog Friendly Area! Beck Lake Registration Rebate The Des Plaines Park District is “tail wagging” happy to provide a registration rebate to Des Plaines Park District residents who sign their dog up for the Beck Lake Dog Friendly Area. This is a safe, friendly environment where owners can legally unleash their dogs in a controlled, fenced-in area. Current Registration Cycle: Oct. 2014–Sept. 2015 To obtain a Des Plaines Park District Registration Rebate, simply complete the proper registration of your dog(s) through the Forest Preserve District of Cook County and provide proof of the paid registration to the Des Plaines Park District Business Office, at 2222 Birch Street. The rebate will be a Resident Household Credit, applied to a resident’s Park District account. The credit can be used for paying a recreation program fee, facility fee, or facility rental fee. This new rebate program is designed to introduce residents to the Beck Lake Dog Friendly Area and will be honored for only one registration cycle. Rebates: $25 for one dog registration. $10 for second dog registration. $10 for third dog registration.
