Friday night, when we made errors, they were really glaring.”
This week, Monfiletto said Reno will bring a big and physical team in looking to spread the Tiger defense out.
“They are very multidimensional and run a lot of different looks out there at you,” he said. “You look down on the field with them and it looks more like a chessboard, just people all over the place. They are trying to get you out of position and we're going to try to keep things simple and eliminate the mistakes.”
Douglas was right in it with North Valleys, trailing 14-0 and driving inside the Panther 5-yard line. A costly fumble, though, turned into a 14-point swing after North Valleys drove back down for a score and the 21-0 lead.
“That was nothing less than lack of focus on our part,” Monfiletto said. “It's defeating and emotionally draining to get that close and then have it turn back on us for a score. Those are the types of things we are looking to fix this week.
“We feel like we are right in it and are just looking to get better Friday night.”

The Douglas High School football program will induct its 2014 Hall of Fame class prior to Friday night's football game with the Reno Huskies.
Ceremonies begin at 6:45 p.m. with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
This year's class includes Shane Miller, who played from 1982-83, Scott Burnham (1991-92), Tyson Estes (2003-04), Nick Summers (2002-03) and Kevin Lehr (1996-97), who will be inducted posthumously. Lehr passed away in 2006.
Lehr was the 1997 Northern 3A Region Offensive Player of the Year and the Division II Offensive Player. He still holds school record for rushing touchdowns in a season (27) and ranks fifth in rushing yards in a season (1,597) and second for rushing touchdowns in a career (32).
Estes was named the Sierra League Lineman of the Year in 2004 as he helped pave the way for Spike Agosta's single-season rushing record of 1,945 yards.
Summers was the Northern 4A Lineman of the Year and Sierra League Lineman of the Year during the Tigers' record-breaking campaign in 2003. Douglas won 11 games that season and advanced to the regional title game.
Miller passed for 1,481 yards in 1983.
Burnham was a key piece of the Tigers' 1992 and '92 squads which posted, at the time, school best totals in wins at the large-school level (six in both seasons). In 1991, he helped the Tigers upset eventual regional champion South Tahoe 33-28 at South Tahoe and perennial powerhouse Wooster 14-10
The Douglas defense goes through drills earlier this week at practice. The Tigers gave up just 13 rushing yards against Minico.
