sit still long enough the learn.
DM: a little busy body huh
MDP: yeah pretty much.
DM: If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
MDP: Maybe R&B. if I could really sing, I would never rap.
DM: What genre of music can't you stand to listen to?
MDP: Heavy metal, disco, country music and hard rock.
DM: No rock and roll for you. Are you a fan of go-go music being that you travel from Cali to the dmv?
MDP: I've never really been a fan of go-go music. Honestly when I FIRST heard it I hated
it. It sounded like pots and pans banging to me. But after I spent more time around it I began to appreciate the true musical talent and artistry that goes into their shows. I began to appreciate their marketing skills, as evidenced by their huge, loyal, cult followings. Them boys have skills! So although I'm not a "fan" I can't hate on it. It's a sound unique to DC. Plus if you've ever been to a go-go its almost always a good party, with lots of sexy, scantly clad women, shaking and
gyrating ass and titties. As a heterosexual male, it's hard to complain about THAT lol .....
DM: Too funny I feel you. You came in town to catch Big Bukz performance which was amazing at Infuse lounge and the whole place was moving, where you here for business as well as pleasure and did you enjoy the energy of the night?
MDP: The energy and the show in general was pretty damn good. They had a few too many garbage performers who need waaaaaaay more practice but my homie Big Bukz did his thang .... Like always. He's a great artist so it's always a pleasure to come show support.
DM: I totally agree it still was a nice showcase though, speaking of talents do you have any hidden ones?
MDP: Most people don't know that I'm also a trained actor.
DM: Oh ok what have you done?
MDP: Well I've been on several re-inactments like america's most wanted
DM: wow that is awesome so it was just re-inactments no real life thuggin?
MDP: No, just the re-inactments lol
DM: What artists inspired you to become involved with Hip Hop?
MDP: Artist/hustlers like Master P and TechN9ne really made me believe I could make a living doing Hiphop professionally.
DM: yes very business savvy the both of them. What is your favorite album of all time?
MDP: It's a tie between "All Eyez on Me" and "Makaveli the Don". Honorable mention goes
to Marvin Gaye for his album, "Here My Dear". The drama surrounding that album just
makes it extra special to me. Marvin Gaye was a genius
DM: Absolutly yes he was I love Pac and Marvin believe it or not they were alot alike. What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?
MDP: To be wealthy, be able to provide for my future generations and to NEVER be
forgotten due to a strong legacy of great work and deeds.
DM: Today's music is about collabrations what "hot" rappers are out now, who would
you love to work with on a project?
MDP: Honestly, none. I'm competitive. If they're not already riding with me I see them as potential competition. You never know who you'll meet at the top or who you'll have
to knock off as you climb the ladder of success. There's only room for one number one.
DM: What is the most diffucult challenges when creating new music, rapping or performing?
MDP: To make my raps simple. My lyrics used to be way more complex. Ive had to dumb my
shit down, yet still keep it true to who I am, while trying to appeal to bigger audience.
