Awthentik: What has happened to me in my life is the biggest inspiration for my music. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, writing Rhymes became my outlet. My journal was the first thing I would turn to when I wanted to talk about topics that were so deep and the wounds from my life were hanging over me heavy. I finally put out my first song called "Blind Mans Visual" which was released right before my mother passed. On the record, I just let it all out. I spoke on my life at the time and how effected I was by my mother being diagnosed with cancer. I touched subjects That most people would be scared to tell someone about. When all was said and done, my peers respected the record so much that at that point I knew music was my path. I made the commitment then, that I would be making music the rest of my life. This was more of a reason for me to attend audio production school so that when the raps came to an end, I could still be involved in what I love most. Music

DM: Now in the DMV a lot of artists I have talked to are divided on the support from the area meaning some say there is support for Indi artists and others that say there is a lack of support, what is your position on this argument and what have you seen from your point of view? CONT. ON NEXT PAGE....

Awthentik: My family has been very supportive thru my musical journey. Both my parents are now deceased. I lost my mom to cancer, and lost my dad thru diabetes 2 years ago. They were both very supportive of whatever I wanted to do. My only brother is like a father figure to me. He knows how to handle responsibility like no other and showed me the ropes of being a man. My friends are my family. I still hang out with the same cats I was running the halls with in school.

DM: What was that moment or time you knew you could and should actually take

Music seriously what did you notice that made you feel you should take this craft serious?
