interview with

Annette Alfonso

This year you will participate at the WAO for the 2nd time. On the 1st edition in England your performance was great( 4th in Pentathlon). How was this experience for you?
It was amazing and unexpected. It was our first international competition. I felt a little bit intimidated by the courses and the talent. I went with the goal of running clean in at least one course and came out with so much knowledge about us as a team. Our skills were definitely good enough to make it, but I really think it was our relationship that helped us succeed. Legend is one of those special dogs that gives me confidence in everything we do. She gives everything every time, so I didn ' t want to let her down.
What are your expectations for the 2013 event?
A repeat would be good; getting on the podium at least once would be a dream come true. Legend is now older and more experienced. She was only 3 y. o. when we went to England and I don ' t think I was as aggressive in my handling as I am today. So hopefully, having developed as a team as well as individually and having somewhat of an idea of what to expect will help this time around. But medal or not, I know I ' m coming in and leaving the ring with the best teammate ever!
