If i grabbed your Ipod from you, what would i find you listening to right now?
Not much! I haven't moved in to the Mp3 world that much. I still prefer having real uncompressed
CD's and having the artwork etc. I have DuskMachine and Liege Lord (my other band) on my IPhone for reference. But generally, and especially when I am in writing mode, I don't listen to ANY
music....even on 8 hour drives in the car or on a plane etc! Other than that, I usually throw on some
old school stuff or newer bands releases like Arch Enemy, Testament, In Flames.
How would you define "success" for the band?
Being able to continue to release albums and tour full time.
What do you guys do to relax?
Russ goes camping and riding dirt bikes...we call him the Woodsman. Randy works out and is really into his drums. Nikolai lays around and drinks beer...hahahaha!!! No really, Nikolai is chill and is
very cool. He enjoys being creative in the studio. I like movies, Jet skiing, traveling.
What sets you guys apart from all the other bands out there?
Every band consists of different people each carrying their own distinctive style and abilities. I don't
think we sound like anyone else. We may sound similar to some others and that is inevitable with
all the music constantly being released... but we have a unique sound. We pride ourselves on trying to be creative by exploring ALL sides of our abilities and musicality. We don't want to be pigeonholed or stuck in a rut. We pride ourselves in the fact that we are reaching from deep within to expose all different moods and feelings and showing as much of ourselves through our music as possible. I think diversity and a wide swath in music is an honorable thing to try to attain. We will always strive to reach for that. We're just getting started.
