What sets you guys apart from all the other bands out there?
Nothing really. We are just like any other Metal band from this plant, Earth. I mean, we’re not Iron
Maiden or Black Sabbath… but we try and work hard to reach that unimaginable level. For some
reason we have been labeled as a Doom Metal band, which I can see in a sense. But there are
other elements to or songs that we reach which are a far cry from anything “Doom”. But, we’ll keep
the label. Were just 5 metalheads from Detroit having fun with all of this and are happy to have
great fans who support us.
What is the craziest thing that has ever happened to you at a show?
At one of our 2005 reunion shows, we played an outdoor gig at Michigan’s infamous “Woodward
Dream Cruise”. We got halfway thru our set and that’s when the fine police officers from the city of
Ferndale approached David onstage and said, “If you guys play one more note, you’re all going to
jail”. So, we stopped. In 1988, Coven 13 did a Halloween show in an old downtown Detroit funeral
home. It was the place where Harry Houdini was at after he died from his final performance at The
Majestic Theater. Houdini always believed that he could somehow be able to communicate from
beyond, so there was a Harry Houdini séance at the funeral home during our set sometime. I think
that the people involved were unsuccessful. It was bazaar.
Who spends the most time in front of the Mirror?
That would be David. He’s the frontman…
Who is the biggest prankster?
That would probably be me. Roger gave David a children’s Thor’s Hammer, a novelty toy from the
“Thor” movie. I kept the box that it came in. On the box there is some kid wearing all of the Thor
gear with the hammer in his hand. So, I imposed an image of David on it and hung it up on the wall
of our rehearsal space. It’s still there. I laugh every time I see it. I’m kinda like the go to guy in the
band and everyone gets their info from me and I always like messing with the guys telling them
some unbelievable news that’s really not true. They’re always up to my tricks though, they know
better. But every once in a while…
Anything else you would like to tell the world?
