What do you guys do to relax?
Marloes : Like I mentioned before, we all like to visit concerts and hang out in the pub. Furthermore I really enjoy riding my motorbike on sunny days (a Yamaha Dragstar chopper). Unfortunately I haven’t been on a long vacation to a warm and sunny place. Hopefully next year I can schedule a long holiday at the beach somewhere (and combine it with some gigs, haha).
What sets you guys apart from all the other bands out there?
Marloes : I guess the whole package. We aren’t a band that stays backstage at concerts. We love
to meet new people, wander around the terrain when we play at festivals. We are just a bunch of
laid-back people, enjoying music (and a good party ofcourse). We are absolutely not into the music
for the money, we all have day jobs to pay our bills. Izegrim is about having a good time basically. I
think that is one of the main things that sets us apart from the rest of the metal-scene ; we take our
business very seriously when we are on stage (we always give 200% during a gig), but in the end
it’s all about the interaction between the band and their fans. And a lot of bands tend to forget that.
Music is about having a good time !
What is the craziest thing that has ever happend to you at a show?
Marloes : Hah ! That must have been the awkward moment that I got stuck with my hair in Jeroen’s headstock of the guitar. I was posing and banging like a pro on stage when all of the sudden Jeroen stood behind me. All my hair got tangled in his guitar…. Ooooh my, that was kinda embarrasing. It just took 10 seconds, but the longest 10 seconds in my life. We almost banned Jeroen
from stage the rest of the gig, hahaha ! (just kidding of course).
Who spends the most time in front of the Mirror?
Jeroen : Well, what do you think : I am ! Noooo, just kidding, we have a girl on board, so she
spends the most time in front of the mirror. More time for us to have some beers.
Anything else you would like to tell the world?
Jeroen : Ah, the famous last words : get your asses to the store, buy our album ; book us for new
shows ! This album should become a billion selling bestseller, making us millionaires driving
around in Humvees, quitting my daily job and tour the whole world. I know, I don’t ask that much,
come on !
