Best dive sites of Caleta de Fuste
The diving area of ​the Deep Blue Diving Centre stretches for several kilometres along the coast , consisting of three parts : Castillo Reef , Salinas Reef and Nuevo Hoirizonte Reef . In between is the Caleta ( which is the Spanish word for bay ) de Fuste .
There are 18 mooring buoys . The fringing reef and the rocks directly in front of it are of volcanic origin . In front of those , the sandy ground slightly slopes into the deep . There is little coral , but a lot of fish , including big fish . Everything is possible , from the manta to the whale shark – just don ‘ t expexct it every day . Stingrays are most often seen , eagle rays frequently , electric rays scarcely . Among the swarm fish are sea bream , most of them black and zebra sea bream . Often sand steenbrass and barracudas occur in large groups . Moray species live on the reefs , occasionally conger eels can be seen . Cuttlefish and octopuses are common . Small red parrot fish and big trumpet fish stay on the reefs and in rock crevices live shrimp and various crab species . Those who do not expect to dive into a zoo are guaranteed to have their underwater fun in the waters off Caleta de Fuste .
La Piramide Favourite spot of the diving centre ‘ s bosses ; it is the reef furthest away from the shore . Main rock in pyramid shape . Scenic the most beautiful spot ; a lot of canyons . Always good for surprises and best chances on deep-sea fish ; even hammerhead sharks were spotted . Many groupers and moray eels , now and then turtles . Very often stingrays and eagle rays ( left ). Black corals , yellow colonial anemones .

El Mirador The 1.5 km long reef complex is one of the top dive sites of the Canary Islands . It is the end of the deep-sea trench . In some places of the undersea landscape full of fish grow red tree corals ( left ) – according to local photographers the largest of the Canary Islands . Good chances for swarm fish and large fish such as barracudas , various types of rays , in winter angel sharks .
