Although whale sharks seem to glide through
the water in slow motion, their slow motion
still proves to be too fast for any scuba diver.
With the snorkel equipment it is easier to
swim next to the giants and get back on the
speedboat when the location is changed.
For the encounter of another shark species –
once at the dive site – no change of location
is required. The nurse sharks at the reef of
Alimatha are always to be found at the same
place. In the shallow water near the island
there are no particularly difficult diving condi-
tions.
That means: as spectacular as this trip is, it
is not only suitable for experienced divers. A
special kick is the night dive with the nurse
sharks. The experienced guides also make
this an exciting, but always safe experience.
