By Shay Bey DZ: What would you do if you were sure you could not fail? SB: If I were sure I could not fail, I would allow myself to be fully in love and lose the fear of love with a human.
DZ: What would you tell your 18 – 25-year-old self based on what you know now? SB: Based on what I know now, I would tell my 18 – 25- year-old self to keep my cookies in the cookie jar. I would tell myself to seek God so I can experience Gods love, which will teach me how to love myself.
DZ: How do you define success? SB: I define success as loving God, knowing the Holy Spirit within yourself, loving yourself, and having peace in your mind.
DZ: What are your daily / weekly self-care practices? SB: My daily self-care practice is looking in the mirror and telling myself that I am beautiful, I love myself, and I am worthy( throughout the day). Weekly, I make sure I get dressed when I go outside, rather than just throw something fast. I even get dressed to go to the corner store, jewelry included.
DZ: What promise have you made to yourself that you can say you are doing the work to fulfill now? SB: I promised myself to stay connected to God! To seek him daily. No matter what is going on in my life. Glory to God, I am keeping that promise.
SB: In the company of my sisters... I am transparent SB: My daily practices of prayer and devotions... include giving thanks to God all throughout the day. I pray for guidance before making decisions. I listen to sermons throughout the day and I read my physical bible in the morning and before bed.

DZ: What would you tell your 18 – 25-year-old self based on what you know now? SD: I would advise my 18 – 25-year-old self to trust their instincts and avoid self-doubt, as doubt can foster apprehension. DZ: How do you define success? SD: Success, in my view, is defined by living a life devoid of regrets, having exerted one ' s utmost effort in all undertakings, and achieving inner peace at the close of each day. DZ: What are daily / weekly self-care practices? SD: My daily self-care practices include ensuring sufficient sleep, which I consider crucial for wellbeing, especially given past challenges with sleep deprivation. DZ: What promise have you made to yourself that you are actively fulfilling now? SD: I have committed to prioritizing myself, and I am actively working to achieve this by establishing a better balance between personal time, professional responsibilities, work, and community engagement.
SD: In the company of my sisters... I find strength and empowerment.
SD: My daily practices of prayer and devotion... reinforce my belief that God is my source of strength
