Do you ever find yourself wanting more from your life, reaching for success that seems just out of your grasp or overwhelmed by the endless things you have to do? If so, maybe prioritizing is your challenge.
There is“ Power in Prioritizing.” Prioritizing is designating or treating something as more important than something else. Many of us wear multiple hats and become tired, overwhelmed and stuck not knowing which way to turn. This gives the impression that we are unable to be trusted to come through, that we are scattered brain or have a bad case of procrastination. Prioritizing is a skill that if used correctly, should be used on a daily basis. Many of us are not in the habit of using a“ Priority System” and therefore, we must use certain aides to help us along. Let’ s stop here and look at how prioritizing can benefit you.
It creates effective time management When we don’ t prioritize our days, we waste a lot of time on unnecessary or untimely projects.
Makes you focus on the tasks at hand A lack of Focus will overwhelm you which could cause you to not accomplish anything.
Heightens the ability to make good decisions
Learning how to prioritize enables you to make good and sound decisions regarding your assignments and adds a flow of achievement.
Increases productivity
Productivity will increase when you use a list to refer to, it keeps you on track and allows you to see what you’ ve achieved.
Reduces stress and anxiety
My personal favorite. It helps to reduce stress and anxiety from the feeling of not being productive or overwhelmed.
How do I prioritize? One good method is the“ List Method.” When using this method, you“ Identify” daily, your priorities and then you“ List” them. A list helps with distractions and keeping up with deadlines. Note, be intentional, all good ideas do not have the same level of importance. Also, levels of priorities may change from day to day. Each day requires a new assessment of your priorities, including the unexpected. Be flexible and adjust your list accordingly while also checking off the things you’ ve accomplished.
Let me leave you with this; confusion, stagnation and overload is not from God but“ Peace of Mind” is His gift to us when we choose to follow and trust him in everything we do.
I love you Abba Father, thank you for calling me daughter.
