For years, I struggled with the question,“ Am I good enough?” I measured my value by how well I performed, what I achieved, and how others perceived me. I chased awards, recognition, and success. To be clear, there is nothing inherently wrong with either of these things, but my motivation for obtaining them was misguided; it was rooted in insecurity. I later learned that unconsciously I craved validation— external proof I was measuring up to some standard or person that seemed worthy of applause.
As a young adult navigating college, law school, and eventually corporate America, I often found myself in spaces where there weren’ t many people who looked like me. I felt a constant need to prove that I belonged. On top of that, I routinely compared myself to others whose confidence, intelligence, and accomplishments I admired— always coming up short in my own eyes.
In a world that constantly tells us we need to be“ more”— more beautiful, more successful, more accomplished— it’ s easy to believe we’ re falling short. As women, many of us juggle multiple roles. The pressure to excel in each one can be exhausting. Perhaps, you’ ve also struggled with comparing yourself to others. Maybe you’ ve experienced“ imposter syndrome”— that quiet fear of being exposed as not good enough, even when you’ re more than qualified. I’ ve been there, too.
At times, I still hear that voice in the background telling me I’ m not good enough. But the truth of God’ s Word offers us freedom: You ARE enough— not because of what you do or have accomplished, but because of who God is and who you are in Him. Comparison clouds our vision and causes us to overlook the beauty of our God-given uniqueness, gifts, and purpose designed just for us.

When you’ re feeling“ less than,” hold on to these truths:
1. You are fearfully and wonderfully made( Psalm 139:14).
2. You are God’ s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works( Ephesians 2:10).
3. God created you with purpose and a plan( Jeremiah 29:11).
4. God’ s grace is sufficient; His power is made perfect in your weaknesses( 2 Corinthians 12:9).
These truths anchor your identity in Christ. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for YOU. Now, that alone proves your worth! Rest in the truth that YOU are chosen, loved, created with purpose, AND fully“ enough” in Christ.
