DANIEL TE YOUNG
Briefly tell us about your
professional background.
Te Young: I was born and raised in
Tallahassee, Florida. I graduated
from Florida State in 1989, and
from Florida State College of
Law in 1992. I have focused my
practice on construction law
since 1999. In 2005, I was in the
first class of about 100 lawyers
to become Board Certified in
Construction Law by the Florida
Bar. In 2006, I moved my practice
and family to South Florida. I have
served as General Counsel to
NUCA of South Florida since 2012.
I launched my own firm, Law Office
of Daniel Te Young, P.A., in January
2016.
Why you are in the underground
utility business and how did you
get started?
Te Young: I started representing
underground utility contractors
in 1999. I had just returned to
Tallahassee from a year-long
sabbatical to Taipei, Taiwan,
where my wife and I studied
Mandarin Chinese and I worked
part-time at a Taipei law firm. I
joined a construction law firm
in Tallahassee that represented
