The Mansfield Independent School District is a destination school district located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex . The district encompasses more than 94 square miles , serving students in the city of Mansfield , as well as sections of Arlington , Grand Prairie , Burleson , Fort Worth , Venus , Alvarado and Kennedale .
MISD serves more than 35,700 students and counting . The district has a pre-kindergarten center , 24 elementary schools , seven intermediate schools , seven middle schools , five traditional high schools , two standalone STEM academies , a career and technology academy , an early college high school , and an alternative education center .
Even though MISD is a growing school district , it still maintains its small-town feel with different events to bring the community together .
MISD CLOTHES CLOSET
The MISD Clothes Closet provides clothing and school supplies for free to MISD families in need . Hundreds of families are served every school year . The Closet is managed by PTA volunteers from across the district and is able to stay stocked thanks to individual donations and campus clothing drives . Students from the district ’ s special populations program , athletics groups and more regularly volunteer at the Closet .
