District Financial Update
As you may have read, the State of Illinois implemented a new funding formula for public education,
guaranteeing more state funds for those districts with the greatest need. District 128 is not
considered a district with the greatest need and our state funding will not increase, but it will
hopefully remain stable. As you can see by the graphs below, the greatest area of spending is directly
related to instruction; primary funding largely comes from local resources; and our expenses are on
target with the state average.
Most of the funding comes from local
sources, with State support a very
distant second
In terms of instructional and operational
spending, Palos Heights 128 is right in
line with State averages
The lion's share of district expenditures is for
instruction and support services
