BOUNDARY STONE

Named after the forty stones placed as mile markers
that formed the original diamond shape of the District,
Boundary Stone Public House opened its doors at 116
Rhode Island Avenue NW in 2011.
Business partners Gareth Croke and Colin McDonough,
both Bloomingdale residents, envisioned a true
neighborhood pub with a welcoming environment
where people can enjoy food, drink, and the simple
pleasures of music and good company.
A family endeavor, their brothers Matt Croke and Peter
McDonough, as well as Gareth’s dad, Bill Croke, are
involved with the pub.
“The motivation for opening Boundary Stone
in Bloomingdale was to provide a gathering
place for our neighbors.”
