BACIO baciopizzeria.com Opened in 2011, Bacio is located at 81 Seaton Place NW on one of Bloomingdale’s picturesque historic blocks. When asked what he likes most about Bloomingdale, Bacio Pizzeria owner Atilla Suzer does not hesitate. “Bloomingdale is the warmest, friendly neighborhood in DC!” It’s not unusual to see neighbors walking home carrying a fresh hot pizza box. Bacio has an indoor dining room, as well as patio seating. Of course the menu includes pizza, such as the “LeDroit Park” with anchovy, capers, basil, cherry tomato, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. Bacio also features locally made desserts from Grassroots Gourmet and Uncle Chips, as well as Moorenko’s ice cream. RUSTIK rustikdc.com Rustik Tavern is about to celebrate their fourth birthday and owner Diton Pashaj has tremendous gratitude for those who have been with him on the journey. His family has been extremely supportive and several of the staff have been there from the beginning. He even convinced Chef Seth Brady, a vital part of Rustik’s success, to move back to DC from San Francisco. Pashaj tells us why he chose to open Rustik Tavern in the Bloomingdale neighborhood, “Many years ago, I lived just south of Bloomingdale, and I found the neighborhood 30 ISSUE NO. 5 very charming. I had helped open other restaurants in DC, each one a few blocks east of the last. I had a sense that Bloomingdale would be a very nice place to work and start a business.” “Plus, you can’t beat the character of our streets.” Rustik Tavern, located at 84 T St NW, is a friendly place with tasty eats and good drinks. The versatile space with a patio is great for bringing family, meeting a date, or catching up with an old friend.
