-Too often the 'little human' is vilified when companies, corporations, etc, should do a lot more! The recycling everybody does is essential and very important, but I think the bigger impact would come from companies/industry. -Yes, fashion companies should be the forefront of recycling. Packaging, maybe even clothes bring back fashion. I think the biggest impact is Primark, even though they have been scrutinised due to there bags breaking. But they are the only ones who's have being trying recycle. -The companies, if they change it then people will have to use it -The fashion companies because, in general, they produce more waste. -The fashion industry to stop producing items that have so much waste in the first place - packaging, plastic hangers, plastic containers for makeup and also ourselves for not buying consciously / to ensure that we recycle at home. -I believe everyone should be committed in reducing there own impact on waste. -Both need to change. Companies need to create less and consumers need to recycle more. -I believe fashion company should make changes and us too. -I believe the fashion companies have a bigger impact on consumers which would help the whole situation. If companies are seen to be doing their bit for the environment then it will be passed onto the consumers. The bag charge for example is just a way to encourage people to re-use their own plastic bags or in Primark's case, they use bags made out of recycling material. I think it should be both. However fashion companies would have the biggest impact because it is on a much larger scale -BOTH (+ governments / shops) - It is up to us as consumers to demand that fashion companies use less packaging (bags, boxes, coat-hangers), the companies to use less (forced to by legislation such as landfill tax and separation of wastes). -Both have equal parts to play but if the consumers helped us out first by reducing the amount of cardboard and plastic used in packaging, perhaps people would be more willing to recycle more? -Fashion companies. Although some bags and boxes hold an air of luxury, they go straight in the bin afterwards. Maybe they could make sure the packaging they use is recyclable. -Us - things forced upon us can only have a limited impact -Both. Have you seen all the paper that gets stuffed into a handbag! -Both we all use the same materials -I believe we both have an equal role as we as consumers should reduce our plastic and cardboard waste and so should the fashion companies. -I think consumers hold the power. If consumers stop buying from retailers that are the worst culprits then they would soon change their ways and reduce the packaging used. it should be both... Although companies would have more waste in comparison to a consumer if all consumers didn't recycle they would be as bad as the companies... It's everyone's responsibility to recycle because we are running out of resources and creating too much waste. -In a capitalist system where big companies have influence and power, it would be helpful if they made the change. It would encourage everyone else to believe that recycling is important. -The fashion companies could do more to reduce packaging especially with online deliveries which contain lots of marketing material and plastic packaging -I believe that it should be the fashion companies should make a change.to the plastic and cardboard waste and not pack as much into there boxes -The companies have a bigger impact to reduce plastic and cardboard waste as they can prevent the amount of packaging used before it reaches the consumers. -Both. The fashion industry should reduce waste by reducing packaging, but in the end its up to us as consumers to responsibly deal with the waste we generate. Consumer s have the bigger impact. -Both, however it doesn't seem as if companies get as much of a bollocking about it as the consumer does. Not a fashion company in particular, but I often order things from Amazon that may be smaller than an A5 sized box, yet it'll arrive in an additional larger box along with paper wrapping/stuffing inside. When you take into account the amount of people who are ordering items from a retailer such as Amazon, and the amount of boxes, wrapping and stuffing that generates per order, how can it be that the consumer is expected to make all the sacrifices when we should be looking higher up the chain? -Both! It's easy for people to recycle though so more people should do it. -I believe fashion companies as they have greater power to make a significant and positive effect. customers have the biggest impact. Companies should give clear instructions on recycling to educate consumers the correct way to dispose of their rubbish XVI
