Biffa
Biffa a UK based privately ran waste collection service collecting items from general waste,
hard plastics, hazardous waste, wood, metal, clinical waste and environment services waste.
A main focus for the company is Retail Waste Management, whereby they will collect general
waste, dry mixed recycling, card and plastic, textiles and animal Bi-Products. These products
are successful recycled where able, making it their mission to comply with their environmental objectives and targets to monitor and review their performance. This is completed using
the two Material Recycling Facilities (MRF) whereby mixed recyclables are sorted and sold
onto companies globally. Together both locations in London and Birmingham are capable of
processing 400k tonnes per annum (Biffa, 2015.) By collecting both household and company
wastage it allows for the company to take its monopoly position in the market.
