the new women”.

American Tobacco Compa-
ny- Demonstrated a walk for
equality down New York’s
Fifth Avenue. Holding cig-
arettes as “torches of free-
dom” and encouraging other
women to join in smoking,
liberating women through
defying the stereotype that
only men can smoke.
Wonderbra - “Hello boys”

advert Eva Herzigova
looks down at her breasts
in a black scalloped black
bra, with the words “hello
boys”.

Enjoli perfume by Revlon-
After the success of Charlie,
Revlon bought out Enjoli,
a serious woman, juggling
working, looking after her
children and keeping fit at
the same time. It’s slogan,
“the 8-hour fragrance for
the 24-hour women”.
1995
Nike- “If you let me play” cam-
paign. This campaign consist-
ed of an array of multi-cul-
tured young girls stating facts
from Nikes research, such as,
“if you let me play I will like
myself more.” “I will have more
self-confidence. “I will be 60%
less likely to get breast can-
cer”. “I will be less likely to get
pregnant be-fore I want to.” “I
will be more likely to leave a
man who beats me” and “I will
learn to be strong”.
