“The interior of the Lerner Theater
in the city of Lerner”
partner). (They also have other Christmas related shows in early December to list, some in the Blue Gate Theater and some in the Shipshewana Event Center, down the road from one another.) Also, some of the shows come with dinner and a show, or just the show only. See website for more details!
In the nearby city from Shipshewana is the city of Middlebury which has a theater called, ”Essenhaus Heritage Hall". I’ve been to this place and it’s very nice. They have this live Christmas performance called, “Flight 1225” which is a live Christmas production on Friday November 29th all the way untill Saturday December 21st.
You will experience the comic tale of five stranded airline passengers and one "sincerely helpful" airline employee who attempt to survive a severe snowstorm on Christmas Eve, destined to delay all departures from a quaint Midwestern airport. See website for more info! Across the street from this theater is the “Das Dutchman Essenhaus” restaurant, which is a great place to eat before going to the play. The “Essenhaus Inn” is also there if you wish to get a room to stay. All three places are situated in the middle of a country setting in walking distance of one other.
Over at the “Lerner Theater” in the city of Elkhart, they have Christmas related attractions with a live performance on Sunday, December 2nd at 2:30pm inside the Lerner Theater. The “Elkhart Municipal Band” is having a FREE holiday concert.
They showcase all sections of the band in familiar holiday melodies: “12 Days of Christmas”, “Gloria (from Angels We Have Heard on High)”, “Deck the Halls”,
“Dashing through the Snow”, “I Heard the Bells”, “Green Sleeves”, which is best-known as “What Child is this,” and many more favorites Christmas favorites.
There are other Christmas related events at this theater such as, “Meet me in St Louis” which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday December 13, 14 and 15th at different times. This production comes with a cost!
This production is based on the heartwarming film of the same name. “Meet me in St. Louis” takes audience members on a musical journey back to the early 1900’s. The magic begins at the site of what is to be the St. Louis World's Fair of 1904. The show's center, the Smith family are gathered at Shrinker Swamp to watch the groundbreaking ceremony for the Fair, the "greatest show that ever showed!"
The Smiths are a humble middle-class family comprised of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, their four daughters Rose, Esther, Agnes, and Tootie, and their son, Lon. With the addition of romantic suitors, comedic misunderstandings, and jovial pranks, this musical is filled with nonstop entertainment featuring memorable
