But, in fact, if your ego has diminished in recent years, it could be time you claimed it back. Why? Because ego is directly linked to self-esteem. And when your self-image goes up, your limiting beliefs start to disappear. The unconscious behaviors that have been holding you back will disintegrate. Here are three tips for rebuilding your ego:

• Feed your ego. Just like a muscle, your ego needs to be stimulated to grow. Immerse yourself in environments that help you grow. Get uncomfortable. Read up on building self-esteem and practice it every day. And of course, stay away from dream busters.

• Let go of bad habits. The most dangerous habit is thinking lowly of yourself. By being disciplined and removing negative chatter that makes you unmotivated to move forward, you can finally get the wheel rolling again towards your goals.

When it comes to visualizing your own success, you need to get specific. Think about your next goal, and what it feels like when you get there, taking into account the entire picture. How do you feel? How does it smell? What can you hear? Replay it in your mind again and again until it becomes your reality.

3. Align your actions and values.

So much stagnation and unhappiness occur when we are misaligned. You probably have a certain set of values that you try to live by, but how often do your actions reflect them? If you’re actively not aligning your actions with your values in one area of your life, it will spread into all areas. To experience colossal success, your outer you must reflect your inner you.

The hardest part is recognizing when your actions go against your values. It can be a harmless habit that you might think nothing of. So sit down and assess yourself, and correct the imbalances that are holding you back from your higher self.

4. Reclaim your ego for elite performance.

Sadly, society tends to view the ego as a bad thing, villainizing it to the point
