is evident at the News of Jesus (Luke 1:26- 29). Mary was 14-16 yrs old when this story opened. No doubt she and Joseph, like other young couples, had discussed dreams of his carpentry trade and their future lives together. Then God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary the startling news of v. 30-31 “You have found favor with God and behold you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.” It is Mary’s response to the News of Jesus that made her special! Mary simply asked how God would do this since she was a virgin (Luke 1:34) and then responded in faith when told “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and power of the Most High will overshadow you” (v 35).

This month we honor Mothers, who hold the greatest trust in all the world is in your hands! Use your belief in God as Creator to mold and shape the human lives born to you as mothers. Your influence has no limit! We are also this month honoring the Military and sacrifices made. One thing is clear…every hero who ever lived had a hero-making mother! No one can boast of this more than Mary in Luke 1. Her life was Transformed the moment the Angel spoke of her being “highly favored” and presented her with the opportunity of “being with child of the Holy Spirit”. From that moment, Mary’s life was Transformed by carrying Jesus’ precious life in her body.
