BEING COURAGEOUS AND

OF GOOD CHEER!

This article is about having courage, and when I thought about that word, I thought about my cancer ordeal and some of the people I met. Don't worry; I am not going to talk about me. I wrote a book about that, but I want to share with you one of my experiences when I had to have my radiation treatment at the Karmanos Cancer Treatment Center. Unfortunately, I did not mention this in my book, but there were a few heroes that I just have to take my hat off to for being so courageous. These people were the children I met who were stricken with cancer and, despite, what they were going through, they still managed to smile and hold their little heads up high.

Who truly understands the human spirit and what God intended for it to endure? I can't speak for all, but I believe that no child should have to carry the weight of any insidious disease. I had the opportunity firsthand to see what they go

The agony of lying in their beds sickly and their parents feeling helpless, but yet, these small frail bodies still manage to hold their little stuff toys and give it a squeeze.
