VACATION AND TRAVEL
“A view of the Strasburg Train from in front of the Red Caboose Motel” s
”This is one my photos I took of an
Amish farm I viewed from the train”
This next attraction is a one of many ways you can view the Amish countryside and that’s the “Strasburg Railroad.” This is a 45-minute train ride with outstanding views of the Amish farms, rolling hills, and the mountain range in the background. They even have a dinner car if you wish to have lunch on board while taking in the outstanding view out the window. I’ve been on this train twice!
then you will find that all the motel rooms are all real authentic cabooses.
Another way to view this area is on a horse and buggy ride which I’ve taken. This place is called, “Ed’s Buggy Rides.” They have a buggy tour that stops at a working Amish farm where you can get off the buggy while seeing and learning fun facts from your driver about the Amish lifestyle, which is a 3-1/2-mile tour, that takes 35-40 minutes. This tour is done on the backroads where you will see how everyday life works on all these farms, some of which are postcard scenic views. There are other companies like “Aaron & Jessica's Buggy Rides,” that offer this same tour and others I didn’t list. See website for reviews before you decide.
If you want a good viewing spot to take a picture of the train going through the farmlands then go over to the “Red Caboose Motel,” which borders the track. It also has a restaurant onsite! There you will have the best view of this train, which is outside the train station. If you wish to stay at the Red Caboose Motel,
