FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

Being a cancer survivor, I know all too well the importance of making a conscious effort to stay healthy. I’ll tell you, being sick is not a picnic, especially when it is a disease that can cost you your life. I learned a very valuable lesson during my ordeal and that is that we must stay in sync, body, mind and spirit, if we are going to maintain the status of health and wellness. One part impacts the others and if that impact lingers on too long then the battle between life and death will be on the horizon.

During the cancer ordeal, I changed everything all the way down to my thought life; that was truly a battle, but I had to add that to my things to do in order to survive. When I came out of this ordeal, my desire was to share my knowledge of wellness with anyone who would allow me to share, and now I have the opportunity to get the word out on a greater level and I do not have to do it alone.

This month we will be observing “Health and Wellness” and how it relates to your three part being. The goal is to encourage you to take a look at your health status and make an effort to be a healthy—“YOU”. We only get one chance with this body; you cannot go to WalMart and buy another one when this one stops performing at its optimum capacity. Once this body is gone, it’s over. Therefore, we should do everything in our power to live a fulfilled life with this wonderful body God created.

This issue will feature three ladies who have committed their lives to surrounding themselves with whole foods and other health conscious items that will help you live a healthy lifestyle. They have owned and operated a premium health food store, Total Health Foods in Wyandotte, Michigan (one of the communities in the downriver area) for many years and have built a reputation in their community to be the place to go where all of their team is knowledgeable and passionate about their products.

Our other articles will address enjoying healthy recipes and methods to maintain a healthy body, mind and spirit for this New Year. Even our articles in our relationship section will encourage developing a healthy, wholesome relationship with your spouse. There is a lot of great information in this issue and we hope you will enjoy all that we have for you this month. As always, we enjoy bringing it to you. I believe that from our past issues, you have figured out by now that we are committed to you and we want to give you a well rounded magazine that deals with many topics. This is why we have a diversity of guest writers too. When you read the articles, we hope you will find yourself longing for more knowledge, more inspiration and more desire to be transformed. You only get one chance in your unique vessel that God has given you to dwell on this earth, and I think you should spend each waking moment being the best you can be as you discover....Your Own Uniqueness.

Sincerely,
