I FOUGHT FOR YOU (WHAT TO TELL FAMILY)
Article by Pastor Philip Nissley,

As we celebrate another anniversary of our Nation’s freedom and those who fought to obtain it, we need modern day heroes who will stand up and fight for the continued freedom of our families’ needs! We need proud mothers today who will say to their children - I fought for you from the time I felt you in the womb. I didn’t abort you, I blessed you, because I sensed God’s purpose on your life, and I will fight for you until you achieve it!
We need proud fathers today who will say to their families - I fought for you when tempted when financial times got rough or I was tempted to throw in the towel at work. I fought for you when women tried to entice me, or problems would have caused me to give up on our marriage. I stayed in the battle and won for you because our family’s future is important to me!
We need to say to people around us, I fought to show what God can do. I kept myself clean from the world, went regularly to church, was a person of prayer and fought to live a life beyond reproach, because you are important to God and me!
We need people of God who will fight to live above temptation. People of God who will fight to save crumbling marriages. People of God who will fight to save their children from teenage rebellion. Why? Because the Bible says in Neb. 4:13-14 and 20 that if you’ll fight for your family, “God will fight for you” …its vital to:
REMEMBER WHEN THERE WAS GREATER PROTECTION IN THE LAND
In Neh. 4, Nehemiah called to remembrance how the wall around Jerusalem was once a proud fortress and a great line of defense from attacking enemies. He realized how the enemy had compromised and breached their defenses. Like Nehemiah in Neh. 4, its time to “look over the situation” and inspire others and say “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and go fight for your friends, your families…and your homes!”
