WHAT GOD HAS PUT TOGETHER

A

Ruth and Boaz

Marriage

Article by Dr. Tunishai Ford

Marriage is the most wonderful and sacred institution that God created, and it is not to be taken lightly, but in our society, it is probably the most abused. I have come to believe that most people who get married today do not have a clue as to what God's original intent is for marriage (Genesis 2:24). If I were led to do so, I would write a book. But let me focus on the beauty and splendor of the institution of marriage by looking at a marriage that God ordained and the person who was instrumental in bringing two people together who became part of the ancestral lineage of Jesus Christ.

We have heard the story of Ruth and Boaz, and we understand that because of their union, the Jews were given their first ordained king and through the lineage of David, Jesus was born. If Ruth were on her own and a stranger in town, do you think she would have ended up working for Boaz? Well, we will never know, but I know that God killed two birds with one stone and Naomi was the woman who brought both opportunity and provision to her home. Because Naomi instructed Ruth to go and work in Boaz's field, there was accountability. She knew her relative, and she knew that he was a good man. . Wouldn't it be wonderful to
