THE EDITOR'S DESK
As my fingers hit the keys on this computer keyboard, I reflect back on the two months and one week in which I had the pleasure of working with 34 driven women who participated in our first STEP UP Ladies entrepreneur program. Nine weeks, once a week for three hours and both AM and PM classes was the schedule that these ladies endured. It was a challenge for many of them who faced so many problems in their personal lives, but yet they persevered. I am so proud of our success with these ladies and the fruit of the classes are coming to fruition. Many of them have already applied for the DBA papers (Doing Business As), their EIN# and following their business plan that was one of the requirements to successfully complete the course.
We had our last class on Tuesday, January 5 and saying goodbye was not going to be a part of our format. I had full intentions of working very closely with all of them in the very near future. They all did phenomenal jobs, and my team is very proud of them. In fact, we are in communication with many of them several times during the week. I truly believe that 2021 is going to be an extremely successful year for many of them and their achievements will be showcased. This is why I am pleased that we are able to delicate this issue to all of our STEP UP Ladies participants to commemorate their achievement.
I would like to introduce you all to our upcoming entrepreneurs, and I hope you will be filled with as much pride as me and my team. They all worked hard, and they should
be rewarded, and one of those rewards are seeing themselves in this magazine. I don’t know about you, but I think it is an honor to be in a magazine publication knowing that a lot of people are reading about my ccomplishments. This special addition will fill your hearts with pride, and you will go two thumbs up to our graduates.
Now don’t worry, there will be the usual great articles and information as we bring to you every month. We will never slack in our efforts to bring you a great issue. Remember, this is the second issue for the year, and we are looking forward to coming into your home and giving you the best recipes, advice, encouragement, and inspiration in this new year. It’s a “One stop shop” as I always tell you, and I know many of you look forward to getting the free publication every month. Yes, we all had our challenges last year dealing with the Corona Virus, social distancing, online learning for our children and much, much more. But again, we made it through, and we discovered there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope this publication helped you get through it too. You all know what I am going to say next, “Find your favorite sitting place and beverage and relax while you read this issue as you Discover... Your Own Uniqueness.
