Michael Cheatham resides in Detroit and was educated in the Detroit public school system. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he received a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in Business. He later earned an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. While at U of M, he served in the Army Reserve. After college, Michael entered Comerica Bank’s Branch Management Training program. He spent most of his 25+ year career in the banking center system, but also worked for several years in Corporate Contributions and the CRA/External Affairs department. He currently manages a Banking Center in metro-Detroit, where he serves as a trusted advisor, dedicated to helping customers be more successful. Michael is very active in the community. In addition to his extensive work in the area of financial empowerment, he serves on the board of directors for several non-profits and community development organizations.

Jim Muir has provided counseling and workshop services in Michigan as a member of Detroit SCORE for 11 years. His activities include workshop presentations on Business Plan Financials and served as Chapter Chair for 4 years. He continues to work with the Your Own Uniqueness (STEP UP), SBA, CEED Lending, Operation Hope and other local organizations that support small business in Michigan. He currently provides workshops in Business Financials and Marketing via on-line services. Jim’s career for 35 years includes management and consulting positions in Logistics and Small Business Financial Analysis. His Business Financial activities focus on cash flow, product profitability and Business Plan Financials development. Jim’s SCORE and consulting clients include many women and minority owned business. These include successful ongoing enterprises as well as start-ups.
