HOW TO DO THE WILL OF GOD, WHEN YOU DON’T WANT TO
This is still an internal struggle for me at times. It’s like you want to be doing “this thing” although you know God has called you to do something else. For example, I had a career in a field of graphic design and God told me to go to fashion school. I cried because I thought God didn’t want me to be a graphic designer, anymore. However, God changed my directions for His reason. Several years later, I am still able to incorporate that talent of graphic and web design into what I do but not the capacity I would like to do it. This could go for any career, status, even directions such as God making you relocate from one place to another. I had to learn God was the potter and I was the clay. I still have moments when I would rather do something else
I wake up every morning in prayer about my purpose, business, job, family, etc. There are some things in my purpose I didn’t want to do. I would pray and plead with God, giving Him excuses as to why I shouldn’t do. ( You picked the wrong person. I don’t have the gray for it. etc. etc.) However, doing what God says is an act of obedience. In Deuteronomy 5:33 paraphrased says, “walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess”.
