VACATION AND TRAVEL

Battery Park, and on the way there you will pass many Palmetto and Oak trees. Now, once arriving at Battery Park you can get a great view of the waterfront, and a distance view of Fort Sumter and the Sullivan Lighthouse, plus the Ravenel Bridge, which is northeast of the park, as well as other sites.
Now, a trip to Charleston would not be complete without a visit to a plantation like, Boone Hall Plantation from the movie “North and South,” starring Patrick Swayze, and also, the movie; “The Notebook” which had some scenes filmed there. (Some of the other well-known plantations in the area are, Middleton Place Plantation, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, Drayton Hall Plantation, as well as others. (These four I mentioned are the most visited!)
I’ve been to the Boone Hall Plantation on two different visits because I’m a fan of the movie North and South, which is a mini-series over 18 hours long, with many scenes filmed there. There are many outdoor things to see and do in Charleston if you don’t mind all the walking. Everywhere you walk there is a great photo opportunity because of all the draping moss trees and the different architectures of homes. There are many iconic streets in the city, some of which are narrow with cobblestone.
East Battery Street is one of my favorite streets to walk because it borders Charleston Harbor. If you walk southward you will end up at Historic
Once you see the fort in the distance, you will want to take the tour out to this island in the middle of the harbor where the first shots of the Civil War happened. Now, before I talk about the tour, you’re probably wondering; where should I spend the night, which can be many choices available depending on how adventurous you are, plus what you’re willing to spend. Every time I visit, I stay in the city of Mount Pleasant, which is a suburb of Charleston. It gets me away from the crowds, and I’m only less than ten miles from the downtown Charleston area where most of the attractions are. All you do is cross over the Ravenel Bridge to the other side to get there. Something to think about!
Now back to the Sumter Boat tour! There are two places where you can board the boat and take a tour of Fort Sumter
