“An aerial view of Charleston, South Carolina”
Article by Michael Joseph Lynch
Charleston, South Carolina area
in March
Living in Michigan in the month of March can still be the middle of winter for this state. A lot of people tend to head south for a nice vacation from the cold and snowy weather. Florida always seems to be on top of many people’s list of places to go for a quick getaway, and also, baseball spring training is happening during this month, but Charleston, South Carolina is a great place to visit and enjoy in March, which is located very close to my former residency when I lived there back in the 80's.
I lived in South Carolina for 3 years, and 1 year in North Carolina, so I know this area pretty well. You will find that most of the best attractions are on the east side of the state, but there are still some good ones elsewhere.
The first place I want to talk about is my favorite place to visit, Historic Charleston. I’ve been there many times! You could spend your entire vacation there because it’s almost next door to Myrtle Beach, as well as other well-known attractions I will be talking about.
The temperature there is in the high 60’s this time of the year, but it may be cooler near the ocean, but still comfortable. Charleston is a city frozen in time with many houses dating back to the Civil War era and before. There are many things to do there for example, you can take a narrated horse and buggy ride for one thing, which shows you many things and places you won’t have enough time to experience on foot.
