YOU CAN EXPERIENCE THE MIRACLE OF GOD’S PRESENCE IN YOUR LIFE
Matt. 1:22-23 says, “All this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin will be with child and shall bear a Son and they will call his name Emmanuel’-which translated means, ‘God with us.’”
A. It is God’s Presence in Us that gives us Anointing, Strength, Fulfillment, deliverance from fear and doubt, gives us Peace and Purpose in life! It was the announcement of the angels in Luke 2:11, “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Yet many are missing this Miracle of God’s Presence and Saving Grace in Life! I read about two ladies who were shopping at the Mall when they happened upon a large nativity scene in one of the department store windows. In disgust, one turned to the other and said, "Just look at that. Now the church is trying to horn in on Christmas!" Also, a pastor of a church in California put a sign in front of his church during the Christmas season that said, "Jesus is the reason for the season. Merry Christmas." He received a complaint from a woman in the community who took exception with the message. She closed the conversation by saying, "I don't think the church should
try to drag religion into every holiday."
B. It is God’s Purpose in Sending Jesus to Us that makes Christmas worth Celebrating! Christmas is a reminder of God’s miracles! Mary being overshadowed by the Holy Spirit to carry the Christ child, Priest Zacharias visited by an angel regarding the purpose of John the Baptist and Jesus’ birth, Joseph visited by God in a dream, Caesar Augustus setting a world census at precisely the time Mary was in her third trimester to get the couple from Nazareth to the prophesied town of Bethlehem, angels announcing the birth to shepherds, an unusually bright star moving wise men from the east to the very spot where Jesus was, Simeon and Anna receiving revelations from God in their old age and were in the temple at the time of Jesus’ baby dedication! It is amazing what God did that first Christmas! But the even greater miracle is that God still does miracles and God wants to intervene in your life today!
CONCLUSION: So, what is the dilemma you are facing today? As you have been trying to figure a way out of it…what solution did you come up with? The Christmas story reminds us there is a better way…God’s way. You can experience the miracle of God’s PLAN for your life… listening for God’s message and following God’s plan for your life. In Jeremiah 33:3, God challenges us to “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” God is a God of miracles…and he will show you His plan for your life… where to go and what to do.
