A Holiday Gift
of Love
It is that time of the year again, when your family is planning that Christmas feast and maybe the only thing on your minds is the menu. You are probably also swamped with last minute shopping and gift wrapping. Therefore, the last thing on your mind is spending that quality time with that special girl or guy that you married. Well, I would like to throw a wrench in all the holiday “busyness” that has consumed your days. If I may, I would like to make a strong suggestion to all of you married couples who are caught up in the moment. Put the sales paper down, don't write another item on the Christmas menu and lend me your attention. I am going to advise you to do something with your spouse that you probably have not done in a long time, and for those couples who are doing this, you are ahead of the game. Listen up---when was the last time you and your honey went on a date. The candle light, soft music in the background, slow dancing cheek to cheek, ah yes, it has been a long time.
Plan a date night during this holiday season. Take time out of your busy lives and plan a date night. Leave the children and pets at home. Make reservations for that exclusive restaurant you always
wanted to go to or haven't been to in a while and enjoy one another. Bring that fire back into the marriage and ignite that romance that was there when you first met. It is during the holiday season that many couples seem to neglect each other because they are thinking of everyone else. It is during this time that couples lose sight of what their marriage is all about because they must share each other with everyone else in their lives. This time around, make it a point to break the cycle and concentrate on you and that special someone in your life. I do not
