COVER STORY

About a year ago, I had a divine intervention with a stranger in a coffee shop. I was drawn to an individual and after a few moments of awkward eye contact, he approached me, and we had talking about life. He told me that the enemy is intimidated by what I was capable of doing and that there was something unique about me. I didn’t necessarily know it at that time, but he also prophesied to me that God had something in store for me where I would be an influencer.

Today that is being fulfilled. I do mainly three different activities with my time which is writing, modeling, or making coffee as a barista. In addition to being a writer for this publication, I am working on Lamaleah.com, Districtgal.com, and occasionally guest blogging for various sights. I also started a project with lamaleah.com to bring awareness to sexual harassment between models and photographers in my city. Modeling has become my favorite activity not because I necessarily enjoy taking photos, but because I have had the opportunity to shine a light into the ever so dark modeling community. I am extremely fortunate that God has supplied me with continual opportunities that few models ever receive. Serving coffee at one of the local coffee shops in a neighboring town has been a joy and an honor. I’ve been able to form relationships with customers that have been priceless.

My story is not out of the ordinary, but I can see that to some it might be. I refuse to let any parts of my troubling past be anything but a remembrance of how God is good and how He takes brokenness and creates beauty. God is always good. My entire life, the enemy was fighting hard to win my life but the Cross already won my battle.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” - Romans 8:28

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
