Finishing Strong
On Friday, August 7, it was time to say goodbye to our Discover WORKS students—but we were determined to finish the summer with a celebration! Our students were presented with beautiful Certificates of Completion, recognizing their participation and accomplishments throughout the six-week program. The final enrichment day was filled with games, activities, prizes, drawings, laughter, and celebration. It was a fitting conclusion to six weeks of hard work and fun.
We began the summer with students who came to us from different families, neighborhoods, and backgrounds. We ended it having shared experiences that connected us in ways we could not
have imagined on June 29. Our students learned—but so did we. Our students grew—but so did we. And while we hope we made an impact on their lives, there is no question that they made an impact on ours.
