myself, then asked if they needed a substitute for the day. The receptionist asked me to hold on and the next voice I heard was the assistant principal, Mr. Pope. He was extremely excited to hear my voice. As soon as I said hello, he said, "Ms. Ford I have been looking all over for you". At this point, he had my undivided attention, my curiosity was overwhelming. He told me that one of his third grade teachers was retiring and he wanted to know if I would like the assignment of being a third grade teacher for the upcoming semester. I was ecstatic and shocked at the same time. I knew this was a miracle because at that school there were already certified substitute teachers that could have easily taken that third grade class; I was not certified. Evidently, when I subbed at the school, he was impressed with my performance and he never forgot about me.
God gave me a "God wink" that I will never forget. I had the opportunity to be a third grade teacher for a semester until they were able to find a permanent certified teacher in the fall. I also got medical insurance for my son. Just think about it---what were the odds that on the last day of school before the Christmas break my regular assigned school would not need me, and I feel compelled to phone another school for an assignment when I could have easily just taken the day off. By phoning that school, an assistant principle who was looking for me gave me favor. He had a lot of clout with the school system and he made one phone call and made it happen. I still think about that day and how miraculous God moved in my life. When God winks at you, you can only be in awe of His miraculous works and loving kindness. He wants to give you a God wink too----expect it!
"He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness" (Job 33:26, KJV).
WHEN GOD WINKS AT YOU
"God gave me a "God wink" that I will never forget. I had the opportunity to be a third grade teacher for a semester until they were able to find a permanent certified teacher in the fall."
