At the Winston, you’ll find more than 100 different whiskies and bourbons to tempt your palate, along with an extensive craft cocktail selection and wine on draft. The whisky selection is unmatched in the Oklahoma City metro area, with offerings ranging from the most popular to the most rare varieties. A crowd favorite in the cocktail category is the Frozen Watermelon Fresca, consisting of fresh watermelon, champagne, fresh lemon and ginger. To go along with your drinks, the Winston provides a casual dining experience, with an eclectic menu of tasty items which can be enjoyed indoors or on an outdoor patio. You may want to check out $2 Tuesdays, as well. Another special touch you’ll find at The Winston is its old- fashioned record player. It’s in use most days, including all day Sunday, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own records to play. “The Winston is a fun, energetic restaurant,” said Taylor Summer, communications coordinator with Hal Smith Restaurants. “It’s a great place to enjoy great food and cocktails with family and friends.” The Winston is located at 106 W. Main Street, just west of the downtown railroad tracks. Hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight; Saturday, 10 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Brunch is served on weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Specials and other news is available on Facebook at @TheWinstonOK, at www.thewinston.com or by calling 405-561-7616 . A house divided against itself cannot stand, but a divided restaurant is another matter entirely. At Press & Plow, you’ll find two halves that combine to make a delightful experience of drinking, dining and spirit shopping. On the “press” side is a wine and spirits shop, with an emphasis on the wine. With an old-fashioned wine press located next to the door and bottles from around the world on display, the building creates the feel of a modern-day wine cellar. It carries every type of wine imaginable, including rare vintages stored in a temperature-controlled room, along with mixers, high-end whiskies and cigars to complete the experience. The “plow” half, meanwhile, is devoted to a coffee house and bar, where you can have coffee and cocktails, plus purchase non-alcoholic products. Among them are sandwiches, cheeses, meats, pastas and more. The items are stored on shelves opposite the bar, so shoppers can browse without disturbing customers. The idea, the owners say, is to create a “grab and go” environment where people can shop for dinner ingredients or other ideas after enjoying their beverage of choice. Located at 2596 W. Tecumseh Road, the restaurant is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven-days-a-week, as well as for private meetings or get-togethers. More information is available on Press & Plow’s website, www.pressandplow.com, Facebook @ pressandplow or by calling 405-928-4006. 12
