Revealed for the first time, 3 Legged
Thing displayed three prototypes at The
Photography Show in March this year.
Hoping to be launched at Photokina
(September 2014) is 3 Legged Things video head, panoramic plate and camera
cage. These items have been designed
to accompany the 3 Legged Thing tripod
systems and appeal to a wider audience.
The video head speaks for itself. It is
purely to allow video enthusiasts to use
their systems to full effect.
The panoramic plate is to allow landscape photographers in particular to pan
whilst they’re tripod and head are at an
angle. It is definitely a piece of kit which
will bridge a gap in the market.
The final prototype is to allow your camera to be the right way up when using
the inverted column on the large tripod
systems and for when you need to have
more than one flash near your camera
whilst shooting portraits or events.
The company is a really small and does
not recruit that often. They look for the
kind of people that fit in with their image,
as it’s different to the corporate style
of the likes of Manfrotto. If the company requires more man power for trade
shows, they post a message on their social media outlets asking if any of their
