Who loves coffee? Say "BEANS!" Ignore the cheese factor, because it comes naturally with my excitement around the marriage of caffeine and Cajun officiated by Louis & Steens.

A shameless addict, I was beckoned off of West Bay Street's winding road and salty air by the bold colors and strong coffee aroma floating from this thoughtfully designed kaleidoscope on the slope.

A cool wash of air conditioned air and a prominent display of artisan-like sweets helped me to make up my mind right there that my discipline would not be accompanying me in this experience. I saw macaroons...and a familiar face behind the register in Tara Russell (she and her family are the PROUD owners of the cafe and the authenticity behind the food experience). With the warmest smile and sheer confidence and command of the menu, she helped me to make decisions in crisis: between a butter pecan and bourbon caramel latte; and THEN a flavor macaroon to try. Those kind of decisions are a big deal (bourbon caramel and a raspberry macaroon for the win btw).

There is no valid complaint against freshly roasted and brewed coffee, but it does get better. In addition to quality coffee beans, you also get options. Real live, coffee-lovers' options! Requests like like Slow Brew, Pour Over or Cold-Brew are all honored here for those of us who can more eloquently flam our way through a "pinkies up" coffee shop experience.

I didn't even get to the food, but you must. It smells the way a good head massage feels with an Instagram-worthy presentation. I won't be stopping for lunch before I come here again as I'm committed to reserving room. I'll be back (creepy Schwarzenegger voice). - Quera F.
