The inspiration for the design of the Huayra R Evo came to Mr. Pagani when attending a Formula Indy race in Nashville. In observing how the open single-seater race cars equipped with Aerocsreen were made, I “thought of creating a car with enveloping polycarbonate surfaces and with the possibility of removing the two roofs to feel the charm of the air and the sound of the aspirated V12 even more.”
Once committed to building such a car, Pagani took inspiration from the “long-tail” versions of Le Mans cars that raced in the 1960s and 1970s.
