Towards this end, Emma decided she wanted to create kits that would inspire others to learn about the world through their eyes and hands and to experience the joy of making.

Then Covid hit. The world as we knew it stopped and exploration of any kind was limited to that which could be accessed through the Internet. Emma was undaunted and discovered she could travel the world in search of inspiration by visiting various museums’ online collections. She had heard of the extraordinary and expansive collections of the Museum of International Folk Art (MOIFA) in Santa Fe, but she had never been to the actual museum. Luckily, much of MOIFA’s collection was accessible online and with so much inspiration at her hands Emma started creating easy to make kits for a “Make Believe Museum Shop.”

Her goal in creating this shop: inspiring adults and children alike to learn about other cultures by making simple culturally inspired products.

Her products were quickly discovered by the Museum of New Mexico Foundation VP of Licensing. A partnership was forged, and the business Metio Studio was launched. MetioStudio.com

Fast forward to Summer 2023.

When Covid abated, Emma emerged with a plan: work with museums within a 50 km of her West Sussex home to create educational programs through products and kits inspired by the individual museum collections and exhibitions.
