Touring Israel was busy, but we had a chance to rest in Jordan. We were staying in Aqaba, a touristic place near the border with Israel. Aqaba lies on the Red Sea shore, so we had a chance to take a bath there in one of many resorts. Of course, first thing that comes to mind when you think of Jordan is Petra; so we visited it on the first occasion. The place is huge, we visited only 1/3 of the whole complex. But it it breathtaking! There is no doubt why it is one of the 7 wonders of the New World.
The next stop was Wadi Rum – the desert so resemblant of Mars that they filmed „The Martian“ there. Rocks and sand are all red and the sunset is the indescribable experience. We had a chance to dine with the beduins in a beduin camp – they
decorated the rocks with lights in different colors, so it was very beautiful and romantic.
The last stop brought us to Amman, the capital of Jordan. We had a tour guide who was studying tourism in Belgrade back in the ’90s, so he spoke Serbian very well. Amman is crowded and busy like any capital, but is surrounded by a wonderful citadel, where the city looks amazing from. Unfortunately, we had only day and a half to spend in Amman, so we couldn’t hang out that much and explore the city; but who knows, maybe I’ll have another chance to find myself here!
